Road safety week is a national event aimed at raising public awareness about traffic rules and ultimately to reduce casualties due to road accidents. Millions lose their lives and millions get injured in road accidents globally. It is mainly due to lack of awareness about traffic rules or a behavior of flouting them. Therefore, to make people more aware of the traffic rules and to persuade them to follow safety rules while on the road; the Road Safety Awareness Month is observed annually. To create more aware and responsible citizens, Pragyan Public School, Jewar, also participated in this initiative and observed the “Road Safety Fortnight” by conducting an elocution on this subject. Mr Sanjay Kumar Pal (Traffic-Inspector, Jewar) and Mr Rajendra Dixit (Sub-Inspector,Traffic) were the Special Speakers from the Traffic Directorate.They suggested very useful tips of road safety to students and teachers. School Principal Mrs Deepti Sharma with School Treasurer Mr Amol Kumar Sharma extended a warm welcome to all the eminent guests. Mrs Deepti Sharma emphasized that road safety is must for global welfare and the students fraternity can play a vital role in bringing awareness to the people at large.She proposed vote of thanks to everyone present.The Programme was co-ordinated by Mr Gajendra Kumar Singh and compered by Mr K.P.Singh.
