Description : A large-scale and impactful Mock Drill on Earthquake, Industrial (Chemical), and Fire Disaster Management was successfully organized at Pragyan Public School, Jewar, under the leadership and guidance of District Magistrate and Chairperson of DDMA, Mrs. Medha Roopam, with the support of Sub-Divisional Magistrate Jewar, Mr. Abhay Pratap Singh, School Manager Dr. Harish Kumar Sharma, Principal Dr. Deepti Sharma, and Treasurer Mr. Amol Kumar Sharma. The exercise was carried out by the Uttar Pradesh State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) in collaboration with multiple government departments. The primary objective of this mock exercise was to familiarize the school community and the local population with effective safety measures to be adopted during emergencies, thereby promoting awareness, preparedness, and resilience. Approximately 200 students and 20 teachers actively participated in the drill. Experts demonstrated life-saving techniques such as reaching safe zones during earthquakes, avoiding panic, administering first aid, handling chemical accidents, and undertaking prompt action during fire hazards. Participants were reminded that patience, alertness, and swift response are the most effective tools for survival during disasters. A notable highlight of the event was the live monitoring of the entire program from the Lucknow Disaster Management Control Room, arranged by SDM Jewar, Mr. Abhay Pratap Singh, which ensured effectiveness and real-time supervision. The mock drill witnessed the active involvement of several state departments, including SDRF Lucknow led by Sub-Inspectors Mr. Rajat Kumar Gond and Mr. Bajrang Bahadur Singh, CHC Jewar under the guidance of Dr. K.P. Singh and his team, Police Control Room, Jewar headed by Radio Sub-Inspector Mr. Pawan Singh and his team, Fire Department, Jewar represented by Mr. Raj Kumar and his team, Supply Department by Mr. Rahul Bharatiya, and UP Administration represented by Mr. Firoz, Executive Officer, Rabupura. The Department of Physical Education, led by Mr. Gajendra Singh Yadav along with Mr. Suresh Chhonkar and Mr. Vijay Sharma, played a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of the drill. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Deepti Sharma remarked:"Such mock drills enhance students’ confidence and prepare them to guide society effectively during emergencies." Expressing his gratitude, School Manager Dr. Harish Kumar Sharma stated: "Awareness initiatives of this kind are not only essential for life safety but also serve as a cornerstone for building a safe and secure future for society."
