Description : An orientation programme for the Parents of students (Class XI A2 and XI A3) was successfully conducted on 31st January, 26 with the objective of familiarising them the growing focus on competency-based education in the CBSE curriculum and highlighting the importance of science subjects in senior secondary education.The programme was graced by the honourable manager Mr. Harish Kumar Sharma. The resource persons were Ms. Soniya (AC), Ms. Bosky (WAC) and Mr. Praveen (SE, Science ) who focused on the competency-based approach, which focuses on the application of knowledge, critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-life understanding rather than rote memorisation. Parents were made aware that board examinations now increasingly assess conceptual clarity, analytical ability, and practical skills, especially in science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics. The speakers explained the importance of developing scientific temper, reasoning ability, and experiential learning, enabling students to handle higher-order questions and competitive examinations with confidence. The orientation also emphasized the importance of parent–teacher collaboration in ensuring students’ academic success. An interactive discussion allowed parents to raise queries related to subject demands, examination stress, and effective academic planning.
